For the Man in the Front Row

Season 3 · Episode 5 · Aug 24, 2026 · 9:46

On September 20, 2025, Stephanie Vaquer beat Iyo Sky for the WWE Women's World Championship, and the first thing she did was run into the crowd and hand the belt to her father. It was the first time in her life he had ever seen her wrestle in person.

She left Chile alone at nineteen for Mexico. Early in her career there she broke her nose in three places and lost more than a year to the injury, with no family nearby and no income. A restaurant owner in Queretaro let her sleep in his kitchen and work as a waitress to eat.

She rebuilt from there. First luchadora in CMLL history to hold the women's singles and tag titles at once. A champion in Japan. First woman to hold two NXT women's titles simultaneously. Main roster within a year.

Ten years after she left home with nothing, she bought her father a plane ticket, the first time he would ever see her wrestle, and won a world championship in front of him.

Two hundred and ten days later she lost the title at WrestleMania, and said on camera that her body needed the rest. By then it did not matter. She had already gotten the thing that mattered most, months before the title ever left her hands.
